With Modern Warfare 4 officially confirmed for release (October 23rd), Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Season 6 is also on the horizon.
This will be the final major seasonal content update to officially launch the new series. While no official roadmap has been released for Season 6, based on the current Season 5 Battle Pass release date, recent leaks, and CoD's consistent seasonal format, Season 6 is likely to launch on September 17th.
Release Date
This predicted September 17th release date aligns with the countdown to Season 6 Battle Pass and the upcoming in-game events, and also fits the typical seasonal content update cycle of Call of Duty series.
With roughly five weeks separating the expected launch of Season 6 from the release of Modern Warfare 4, the window between the two updates is relatively short.
Rather than marking the continuation of an extended seasonal cycle, this limited timeframe suggests that Season 6 could become the final major content update for Black Ops 7, before the spotlight gradually shifts toward the launch of the next Call of Duty title.
The recently concluded Modern Warfare 4 Beta test clarifies this timeline. Early Access Beta ran from August 21st to 25th, followed by Open Beta from August 28th to September 1st.
This period allows players to shift their focus back to Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Season 6 before the official release.
Theme Prediction
Based on all currently available information, the most likely theme for Black Ops 7 Season 6 is Halloween.
Following Call of Duty's tradition, Halloween-themed events - Haunting events, will begin around October. Such as Black Ops 6 Season 6, introduced Halloween-themed map variants, limited-time modes, Zombies content, Warzone night maps, season events, and a special Battle Pass in the season update.
Therefore, the likelihood of Black Ops 7 having a Haunting-themed Season 6 is far higher than releasing a completely unrelated season concept.
If this prediction is true, Haven's Hollow in Call of Duty might become one of the core warzones in Season 6, rather than just undergoing some visual changes.
This is because Call of Duty series has used nighttime map variations in Haunting events multiple times. For example, Black Ops 6 transformed Verdansk and Rebirth Island into nighttime versions and added Halloween-themed gameplay elements around them.
CoD: Black Ops 7 might follow the same pattern, adding new mechanics and locations rather than simply replicating last year's event.
Multiplayer Changes
Multiplayer might also receive a Halloween-themed update.
The most likely scenario is combining brand-new maps with Halloween variations of existing popular maps. Popular maps such as Hijacked, Standoff, or Raid are well-suited for nighttime transformations, although there's no reliable confirmation yet that they will be released.
Alternatively, limited-time modes are also a good option. Slasher-style modes and Halloween Infected have both appeared in Call of Duty Halloween events, so their return in Season 6 seems logical.
Zombies Mode
As I predict, Zombies mode in CoD: Bo7 Season 6 will be exceptionally exciting.
One possible update is the previously rumored Kaku Joe Castle Survival map, which was supposedly slated for Season 5 but never released. If this content still exists in the game files, then Season 6 would be a reasonable time for its release.
Furthermore, according to the latest leaks, some camouflage patterns related to Zombies mode may become Universal Camos through Season 6 challenges.
This means we'll be able to use previously restricted camouflage rewards in other modes like Multiplayer and potentially Warzone.
This will be a significant reward for Zombies players, as many dynamic camouflage patterns are visually comparable to traditional mastery rewards.
Generally, you can earn the new season's themed camouflage by completing challenge missions in regular matchmaking games or the safer CoD Black Ops 7 Bot Lobbies.
Another possibility is the introduction of special Zombies challenges, or even a Super Easter Egg mission. This is currently uncertain, but for Treyarch, the end-of-season update might be a good time to provide some substantial content for loyal Zombies players.
Rex Infernus
There's a particularly interesting Zombies theory regarding Rex Infernus map.
This map was introduced in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Season 5 Reloaded, officially ending the current Zombies storyline with the arrival of Rex Infernus. Season 5 Reloaded also added special drinks, miracle weapons, chewing gum, and other Zombies content.
Since Rex Infernus map is already part of the current Zombies content, one theory suggests that Season 6 might introduce a Halloween-themed variant map instead of a completely new one.
Collaboration Content
This is arguably the biggest unknown for Season 6.
Call of Duty series increasingly uses Haunting events as a platform for horror-themed collaborations. Black Ops 6 Season 6 introduced Jason, Chucky, Tiffany, a Predator-themed Battle Pass, and other horror-related merchandise across Battle Passes, Event Passes, and Store.
If Black Ops 7 follows the same business strategy, the possibility of another large-scale collaboration is very high.
The player community has already suggested several collaboration characters, including Freddy Krueger, Pennywise, Leatherface, Dexter Morgan, and Resident Evil characters such as Leon S. Kennedy.
Of these possibilities, Resident Evil series is particularly noteworthy, as Call of Duty has previously collaborated with Capcom's IPs, and a new Resident Evil movie is expected to be released around the same time.
This timing makes a collaboration with a highly attractive possibility, although it has not yet been officially confirmed.
If the above predictions regarding the release date of CoD: Bo7 Season 6 are accurate, the new season's roadmap is expected to be released about a week before launch, around September 10th.
This will give the official team ample time to reveal the key details of our predicted content: multiplayer mode, Zombies mode, etc.
