With the update to ARC Raiders Riven Tides, Stacking Yard Puzzle on Riven Tides map has become one of the most difficult puzzles in the entire game. This puzzle contains four hidden red buttons, a randomly generated Fuel Cell, a malfunctioning elevator that needs repair, and two separate loot rooms at the ends.
Most players either give up halfway through or completely miss the second loot room. Below is a guide to everything you need for efficient completion.
Workflow
Stacking Yard Puzzle consists of two phases. First, you need to find the four red buttons scattered throughout Stacking Yard. Second, you need to find the fuel cell, repair the damaged elevator, and move Fuel Cell to the crane's control tower to open the loot room. Both phases must be completed to succeed, but the button locations are completely randomized each time you run the raid.
Red Button Locations
Research suggests that the button locations change each time you run the raid, so there is no fixed location that works every time. The only constant is the area where the buttons can appear.
In each game of ARC Raiders, the button can appear in any combination of the following locations. Instead of relying on luck, systematically check all locations:
- Inside Control Buildings, near doorways or on the floor
- Along the rails, directly below each Control Building
- On the catwalks surrounding each Control Building
- On the railings at the top of each Control Building
- On Crane Ladders
- On railings below the catwalks (some require jumping on containers at the side of buildings, and a few may require a Snap Hook or the zipline-jump trick to reach)
- On the exterior walls of the buildings at ground level, particularly in the corners near the container room access
- At the end of the railings in the concrete wall corners that lead outside each crane building
According to our testing, the red button will not appear in the same location twice. The same location may have a button in one raid and be empty in the next. Therefore, you need to treat every location on the list as a potential spawn point and check each floor systematically.
A reminder: Don't overlook the inside of the crane. The small room on the crane is a button location players often miss.
Fuel Cell Spawn Location
After pressing all four red buttons, Fuel Cell will randomly spawn somewhere in Stacking Yard. Statistically, it may appear in the following locations on ARC Raiders:
- On top of containers stacked on the tracks
- In the walkway of the crane control room
- Opposite the loot room
- In the sand next to the red containers below the loot room
- Above the blue containers near the elevator
- To the right of the tracks, possibly blending into the sand
In most cases, Fuel Cell is located on the ground, so keep your eyes down while moving through the area. Spawn points on the sand are frequently missed by players.
Repair Elevator and Transport Fuel Cells
With Fuel Cell in hand, head to the malfunctioning elevator, located below the damaged walkway leading to the crane's loot room. Then examine the damaged panel to see what repair materials are needed. Generally, the required ARC Raiders Items are randomly generated each round, but are usually common resources like batteries or wires.
After the repair is complete, if you completed it in a team, your teammates' roles become crucial: one player stands on the elevator platform holding Fuel Cell, while the other player holds down the elevator button to send Fuel Cell up. However, remember that releasing the button will cause the elevator to descend, so players need to hold it down the entire time.
Once at the top, the player holding Fuel Cell inserts it into the fuse box inside the control tower to open loot room door.
If you're playing solo, don't worry, there are some workarounds available. Place a Trigger'Nade next to Fuel Cell on the elevator, then hold down the button until the elevator reaches the top.
Afterward, briefly release the button to detonate the grenade, using the blast to push Fuel Cell onto the platform. However, this method is somewhat difficult to execute in practice, and you may need to try a few times to find the right angle.
Loot Rooms
Actually, Stacking Yard Puzzle involves two loot rooms, but most people overlook the second one.
Loot Room 1 (Main Room): This crane control tower room opens by inserting Fuel Cell into the fuse box. It's the main reward for completing Stacking Yard Puzzle.
Loot Room 2 (Secondary Room): A destructible red container that requires repairing and operating another elevator in the area to enter. This container may contain Weapon Cases, Grenade Tubes, Ammo Boxes, and other gear. It's also the best place to find Legendary Leviathan's Crown Ship Model, which is highly valuable in Last Resort event.
While each room doesn't guarantee a specific item every time, combining two rooms can yield substantial rewards.
