Mythic Uniques No Longer Rare? 6 Major Updates in Diablo 4 3.1.0 PTR You Can't Miss!

Just now, Diablo 4 3.1.0 PTR was released on June 2nd! The purpose of launching the PTR is to test updates and features before the next season's update, and player feedback will greatly influence the gameplay of the official version next season. So, what changes in this 3.1.0 PTR are worth noting? Let's take a look!

Mythic Uniques

Veteran players know that Mythic Uniques, as a higher - tier Unique, were extremely rare in previous seasons. To obtain these Diablo 4 items, players either needed incredible luck or had to spend a lot of time repeatedly farming bosses to increase the drop rate.

Mythic Uniques No Longer Rare? 6 Major Updates in Diablo 4 3.1.0 PTR You Can't Miss!

However, in the 0.3.0 PTR, Mythic Uniques are no longer rare, because any Unique can be upgraded to a Mythic Unique, officially called Mythic Uniques 3.0. You can use Quality modifiers to modify Uniques, meaning Mythic is no longer a Rarity tier but an item quality, and players no longer need to engage in long, tedious, and repetitive battles for them. However, you can only equip one crafted Unique item; the rest must be obtained through normal in-game means.

This change can help revitalize Uniques previously overlooked by players due to their mediocre stats, but it will also reduce player excitement upon seeing dropped Mythic Uniques. Since Mythic Uniques no longer signify power, players won't feel a sense of superiority, resulting in less enjoyment.

Besides rarity, the developers have also reduced the stat bonuses of Mythic Uniques. For example, Heir of Perdition helmet, previously used by top players for its numerous rare stats and up to 80% damage bonus, has been nerfed in the latest PTR update, reducing it to only movement speed and a mere 15% damage bonus.

Mythic Unique Upgrade Currency

While Mythic Uniques are theoretically easier to obtain, the upgrade materials needed to upgrade Uniques are not. To enhance the gaming experience, studio's seasonal currency for upgrades still requires players to invest considerable time and effort in completing corresponding tasks. This, to some extent, maintains the balance of Diablo 4 items.

Seasonal Lair Boss

Speaking of Mythic Uniques, we must mention the Seasonal Lair Boss, a new boss about to appear. You need to defeat them with fury and obtain Betrayer's Husks to open the chest and claim the rewards.

However, it's worth noting that while challenging Seasonal Lair Boss is expected to still require a lot of monster grinding, this boss drops the most Mythic Uniques and Mythic Unique Upgrade currency in the entire game. Due to the adjustments to Mythic Uniques, many players will probably repeatedly challenge this boss for the generous rewards.

Pandemonium Ruptures

In Season 14, the barrier between Sanctuary and Pandemonium is torn apart by mysterious rifts called Pandemonium Ruptures. Players may encounter three types of Pandemonium Ruptures: Ruptures (Normal), Surging Ruptures, and Colossal Ruptures. Ruptures can appear anywhere, especially in Helltides. Surging Ruptures can be produced in any localized area within Helltides. Colossal Ruptures will only appear in Fields of Desecration, World Boss Arena southeast of Zarbinzet.

These rifts will contain new monsters for you to kill, and you'll also have the chance to summon familiar bosses and conquer Deathtoll Chamber for extra loot.

War Plans Updates

There is another notable update is War Plans Updates. In PTR, you can share your War Plans board with your teammates. However, you need to meet the following conditions:

  1. You and your teammates must both be in Temis at the same time.
  2. You can only share plans when you are in a party.

This change facilitates information sharing between players, helping them fight together, and the cooperative mode can also optimize the game environment to some extent.

Solo Self-Found Mode

A new mode has been added in this update - SSF. In this mode, you'll wander Sanctuary alone, completing solo missions and reaping your own personal riches. However, please note that SSF characters are only available in Season Mode; they are not applicable to Free Trial, Couch Co-Op, or Dark Citadel. Once in SSF, players cannot join parties or trade. Furthermore, once an SSF mode is selected for a character, it will remain unchanged for the entire season.

This mode also features a special leaderboard showcasing the individual skill of players who dare to challenge. The increased solo gameplay unlocked by this new character mode is sure to be popular with solo players.

Gravehound

Risen is a new monster family, and Gravehounds are members of this family. When they are defeated, they spawn Wandering Orbs that can power Exarchs–a special type of Risen that absorbs any energy orbs that drift towards it. However, you can intercept energy orbs before they are absorbed, thus gaining their power.

These are some of the updates in this PTR. Players, are you eager to defeat Seasonal Lair Boss to obtain Diablo 4 Items and forge your own Mythic Unique? For those of you without gaming partners, are you looking forward to the SSF launch? Let's wait together for the PTR on June 2nd!
