Forza Horizon 6 will launch on May 19th for Xbox Series X|S and PC, and later this year for PlayStation 5. Whether you prefer racing, exploration, or multiplayer, Forza Horizon 6 offers progression paths to suit your taste.
This article will guide you through three progression paths in Forza Horizon 6, helping you better understand the game and make your choices.
Wristbands
The iconic wristband system returns in Forza Horizon 6, ensuring a natural sense of accomplishment and satisfaction with every step forward, perfect for players who enjoy structured single-player competition.
Wristband advancement is a core part of Horizon Festival storyline. Wristbands are your passport to new Horizon Festival events, and as you acquire new wristbands, you'll be able to participate in races with higher vehicle restrictions.
Horizon Festival's official events include Road, Dirt, and Cross Country Races, each with its own themed vehicle, as well as Time Attack Circuits, Drag Meets, PR Stunts, and Bonus Boards.
To earn your first wristband, you need to complete Horizon Qualifiers and Horizon Invitational. After completing your first race, Race Customizer feature for that event will be unlocked, allowing you to use any vehicle in your garage in subsequent races and customize your race experience.
As you progress, new wristband events will unlock, including classic Showcase Events and new Horizon Rush obstacle challenges. You must complete these to earn the next wristband.
Forza Horizon 6 features seven wristbands, tiered from yellow, green, blue, pink, orange, and purple, with gold being the highest tier. Earning the highest-tier gold wristband unlocks the new Legendary Isle, and allows you to challenge Goliath, the longest track in the series' history.
Stamps
This route is designed to let you experience the joy of discovery. Inspired by Japan's goshuincho tradition, Stamp system is an extension of this culture, allowing you to authentically record your journey in Japan. It operates independently of the race system.
In the game, finding everything helps you accumulate Stamps progress, including collecting and modifying vehicles, photographing murals, smashing mascots, and more. You can also find landmarks, take a day trip around Japan with Mei, participate in Street and Touge Races, earn extra income in Raku-Raku food delivery jobs, and more.
Your progress is recorded in the collection log. After accumulating a certain number, you will receive a stamp. There are 7 stamps to collect in Discover Japan mode. Collecting stamps will unlock the following features:
- Barn Find Rumors - Clues will guide you to discover legendary abandoned vehicles.
- New Properties - Purchase various houses and shops throughout Japan.
- Your Own Custom Estate - A key objective of this route is to restore an abandoned estate. After obtaining your first stamp, a character named Mei will guide you through the manor. The manor is a house you can build and decorate directly in the open world, creating your own exclusive territory.

Horizon Play
This route is designed for players who enjoy competitive online gaming. It can be explored solo or in teams with friends. Horizon Play includes a variety of competitive modes, including:
- Eliminator: The return of the open-world battle royale mode.
- Hide & Seek: A thrilling mode where one player hides while the others hunt.
- Mountain Road Showdown: An intense mountain road racing championship with three races winding down the mountains.
- Spec Racing: A mode that purely tests player skill. All players drive the same stock cars, with no modifications allowed.
- Custom Race/Drift: Set the rules yourself. Choose your preferred vehicle class and race type to find the room that best suits you.
Completing races will earn you substantial Forza Horizon 6 Credits and Skill Points, which can help you upgrade your vehicles and better prepare for subsequent races.
Horizon Play also introduces a dedicated leveling system. Simply playing this mode earns your experience points, and you'll receive a new badge for every 10 levels gained, up to a maximum of 100 levels. Completing a certain number of each Horizon Play game mode and acquiring skills will unlock even more badges.
At the same time, the official Horizon Play mode features its own leaderboard. Each game within this mode has its own series leaderboard, showcasing the top performers in the current series.
In addition, your progress in Horizon Play will contribute to your Festival Wristband progress to a certain extent, which can be used to redeem the next wristband.
These are the three main play paths you can choose in Forza Horizon 6. The game's charm lies in its ability to freely combine different game modes or focus on one.
If you enjoy structured competitive gameplay and want a clear end goal, such as reaching Legendary Isle, then choose Wristband Mode. If you prefer a more leisurely pace, exploring every corner of the map, collecting items, and building your own home, then choose Stamp Mode. If you primarily want to race or drift online against real players, then choose Horizon Play Mode.
Have you decided which development path you want to focus on first? If not, hopefully this guide will inspire you. Let's look forward to the official release of Forza Horizon 6!
