Event Introduction

Forest Treasures event starts at 12 PM EST on November 12th and ends at 3 PM EST on November 17th. Plan your playtime accordingly to try to collect all the milestone rewards.

The gameplay is quite simple; you dig for treasure with a pickaxe. There are twenty levels in total, each with a different board layout. Completing each level will earn you corresponding milestone rewards.

The board is divided into three types of squares: green squares can be opened with just one pickaxe, squares with stones require two pickaxes, and gray squares cannot be opened.

The event starts with four pickaxes, which you can acquire through various means. After the event ends, any remaining shovels will be converted into dice at a 1:3 ratio, so don't miss out on any shovels, they're a treasure trove!

Event Rewards Introduction

Forest Treasures milestone system has 20 levels. Each completed level unlocks a new level. By leveling up your milestones, you can earn 4,750 dice rolls, three sticker packs, cash rewards, and an event-exclusive Shield Skin.

The sticker packs unlock at milestones 3, 7, and 12, and are 2, 3, and 4 stars respectively. These sticker packs are of good quality, which you'll get your desired Monopoly Go cards from them.

Shield Skin is obtained at milestone level 18. Its appearance is a green maple leaf, perfect for autumn and very memorable.

The rewards at Milestone Level 20 are incredibly tempting. Reaching this level grants 2,000 dice rolls, a large sum of cash, and a Swap Pack that allows you to exchange unwanted stickers for others. I think most Monopoly Go players would find it hard to resist.

Besides milestone rewards, some Forest Treasures levels also hide dice within the game board, which you'll need to dig out yourself.

How To Obtain Pickaxes?

Roughly speaking, you need 250-300 pickaxes to get all the rewards in Forest Treasures, so we need to acquire as many pickaxes as possible through various means. Here are the ways to obtain pickaxes:

Participating In Tournaments And Banner Events

This is the primary way to obtain pickaxes. Tournaments and banner events during the event period also add pickaxe rewards. You can check their position on the banner event milestones in advance and then plan your activities accordingly.

Tournament leaderboards also reward many pickaxes, so strive to improve your ranking to obtain even more pickaxes.

Claim Store Bundle

Monopoly Go store refreshes with a free bundle every eight hours. During Forest Digging event, these bundles will include extra pickaxes. You can set a countdown alarm to remind yourself to log in and claim your bundle.

Improve Completion Speed

Monopoly Go provides extra pickaxe rewards for players who complete levels quickly. While the number of extra pickaxes is small, it can reduce your pickaxe burden.

This means you should plan your pickaxe usage carefully when digging for treasure, trying to dig up all the treasure with the fewest pickaxes possible, so you don't miss out on these extra rewards.

Event Tips

So how can you complete all the levels more efficiently? Let me share some tips to help you quickly collect all the rewards while saving more pickaxes.

Pay Attention

When entering a new level, observe the size of the treasure and guess the size of the grid it occupies. This event features four treasure shapes:

  • Acorn: 1 square
  • Pine Cone: 2 squares
  • Mushroom: 3 squares, elongated
  • Maple Leaf: 4 squares, 2x2 layout
  • Radish: 6 squares, 2x3 layout

After determining the treasure type, observe the board layout. Treasures occupying more squares are easier to guess, but acorns and pine cones might be more difficult, requiring a bit of luck.

Additionally, note that these treasures can be rotated. For example, the mushroom could be 3 squares vertically or horizontally.

Lucky Mole

As mentioned earlier, squares with stones require two pickaxes to break, which can be quite troublesome. However, mole will help break stones within a certain range. In levels with many stone squares, try guessing the mole's location and breaking it out first.

On some levels, mole is easy to find. For example, on level 3, only the four corners of the outer edge of the board are green squares; the rest are stone squares. Therefore, we can prioritize digging on the green squares, as a mole is very likely to be in one of them.

Dig Order

To dig up all the treasures faster, please refer to the following points:

  • Prioritize digging in the middle squares.
  • Prioritize digging on the green squares, especially those near stone squares.
  • Prioritize digging in areas with fewer obstacles, especially on levels with maple leaf or carrot treasures.

One more small detail: if you've dug up all the treasures but haven't reached the reward collection stage, it means the hidden dice on the board haven't been discovered yet.

Monopoly Go's digging event is definitely worth looking forward to. The gameplay is simple and fun, and the rewards are generous. I can't wait to go treasure hunting, and I wish you good luck in getting all the rewards soon!
