Diablo 4 Season 10 has been live for over two months since its September update. This season primarily focuses on significant improvements to the game mechanics, all aimed at enhancing the player experience. However, recently, some dissenting voices seem to have emerged among veteran Diablo 4 players.
Are Limited-Time Events Not Worth Doing?
Player feedback mainly focuses on the various events triggered in Dungeons and open-world maps. Since these side quests often involve one-minute timed objectives, these events are undoubtedly fun for new Diablo 4 players, as they can complete an objective within the time limit to obtain the extra rewards needed in the game.

However, for long-time Diablo 4 players, these timed events feel more like a burden.
Because of their familiarity with the game mechanics and quests, they can quickly complete the timed objectives triggered in these events. However, the problem is that they still need to wait for the timer to finish before the event ends, ultimately receiving some not-so-rare Diablo 4 items. Therefore, many players skip these events to enjoy the game content more quickly.
Some players believe that the frustration stems from the high damage of Diablo 4's endgame builds. This allows players to easily eliminate monsters while completing quests, leaving only waiting time. This is why players are so annoyed by time-limited missions.
Reddit user Hawke023, a loyal Diablo 4 player, stated in a post that he plays the game for 5-10 hours daily. However, he finds the time-consuming events frustrating, believing that the time wasted could be used for other tasks, such as clearing more Helltide for better rewards.
Player Suggestions For Improving Timed Events
Hawke023's complaint post garnered support from some players, who pointed out game issues and offered suggestions for improving the gaming experience.
Hawke023 suggested adjusting the time limits for limited-time events, such as shortening the event duration to 30 seconds or reducing the timer to 5 seconds after achieving the time limit. This mechanism should be maintained long-term for a better experience for both new and veteran players.
Increasing the rewards for completing events is also a good approach. A significant reason players feel limited-time events are a waste of time is the consistently unsatisfactory rewards. Improving the rewards would make these events a crucial way for players to collect resources and accumulate XP.
Other players suggested borrowing elements from Diablo 3, adding a Kill Counter during events and increasing the gold or XP reward multiplier based on the number of kills. This suggestion received considerable support, as gold is crucial for upgrading equipment and progressing through the game in Diablo 4.
Overall, while some players feel that time-limited quests are a burden for experienced players, the event duration is reasonable for new players because these events still offer a certain level of challenge. Perhaps veteran players should focus on more difficult quests, and complete these easier ones during their leisure time.
In any case, player feedback is crucial for a game, representing their expectations for the future development of Diablo 4. However, currently, Diablo 4 Season 11 seems to focus more on changes to Tempering and Masterworking. Perhaps in future updates, the game developers will listen to player feedback and make corresponding changes.
