These Preparations You Can Undertake During WOW Cataclysm Classic Pre-Patch

Welcome fellow players! WoW Cataclysm Classic will finally launch on May 20th, just a few days away. In this guide, we'll look at things you can get involved with right away during the pre-patch period. There are also various preparations you can make to gain a head start in the new expansion. let's dive in!

These Preparations You Can Undertake During WOW Cataclysm Classic Pre-Patch

Level Up Archaeology

The first things you can do is to level up the new profession, Archaeology. It's a secondary profession, so if you have 2 main professions, you can still learn this. You can level it up to 450 in the pre-patch, and I would highly recommend you to do this as it may benefit you a lot when crafting Epic items.

The reason is that in the WoW Cataclysm Classic pre-patch, we also seem to have a chance to obtain Level 85 epic items. So even before we reach max level, you will have yourself a pre-BiS gear, and these can be sent between your different characters on your account.

Farm Justice Points

You should also prioritize spending time on farming Justice Points, which will have a cap of 4,000. These can be obtained by farming them in Heroics or raids. Additionally, remember to pick up the weekly and the 2 different daily quests, as they also reward Justice Points.

To expedite this process, consider teaming up with 4 other players in the World Chat or join a guild where members are eager to run dungeons. Once you reach the max level, you can use these Justice Points to purchase Level 85 gear, with item levels equivalent to what you obtain in Heroics.

Collect Flight Points

You should also try to get as many flight points in the game as possible, so these will be connected in case you have to go AFK and fly when you're leveling from Level 80 to 85. Remember to also get either 280% flying speed, or if you have a sufficient amount of WoW Cataclysm Classic Gold, your flying speed will reach 310%.

It's going to be such an important thing because we will use our flying mounts from Level 80 to 85. With 310% flying speed, you will also be traveling twice as fast compared to someone with 150% flying skill, and it's going to have such a tremendous impact on your leveling speed.

Get Honor Points

The next thing you can do is to farm Honor Points, and I mainly do this in the battle of Wintergrasp, that happens every 3 hours. Here, you will usually get in between 200 to 500 Honor Points every single fight. This will be useful for fresh Level 80 characters, as Blizzard has just reduced the amount of Honor Points you need for PvP gear.

WoW Cataclysm Classic Wintergrasp

Make sure to also complete the different quests in Wintergrasp, as these will reward you with a lot of additional Honor Points. If you win, the weekly battleground can be found in your calendar, and it will start on Friday. The next one is going to be Warsong Gulch, followed by Arathi Basin.

So, by completing all the different quests and also doing 2 Wintergrasp battles to get enough Honor Points. I would recommend you to prepare for 4,000 Honor Points, as you will then use this in WoW Cataclysm Classic to purchase yourself Level 85 PvP gear.

Gain Reputations

Another thing I recommend doing is to farm your guild reputation. All you have to do is complete different quests in the open world, and this will start granting you a decent amount of reputation. By completing close to 25 quests, you should also get yourself at Friendly reputation at least. This is what happened when completed quests in the Icecrown Citadel.

By the time you're at Friendly, you can then get yourself an Heirloom Cloaks that will increase your experience gain by 5%. Just be aware that this has also been nerfed in WoW Cataclysm Classic, so it only works up to Level 80. This is the same case with the different helms, so there's no need to farm these for Level 80 to 85 leveling, but it could be good if you plan to level up an alt in the pre-patch.

Save Gold For Epic Items

As many other WoW Classic games, it's going to be important to have enough gold so you can purchase yourself the Epic flying skill, but also gold for when you reach Level 85, so you can get yourself bind-on-equip items. For example, rare or maybe even Epic items. In addition to keep some of the gold for your own characters, you can also farm it.

It will be important even as a PvE player, as you'll need a specific item level in order to sign up for Heroics. These PvP items are at Level 352, so they will also boost this so you can get into Heroics even quicker. The new Epic items we can craft will also be so useful, especially if you would like to get into raiding even quicker in the beginning.

That concludes our WoW Cataclysm Classic preparation guide. Here's hoping that this expansion brings forth a plethora of changes that enhance the overall experience beyond what the original version offered. Only time will tell, so let's stay tuned!
