Shared War Plan Board? Diablo 4 Season 14 3.1.0 PTR Brings Unprecedented Changes to Rewards and XP

Since the release of Diablo 4 Season 14 3.1.0 PTR, the changes to the war plan system have sparked heated discussions online. Let's take a look at what these changes are!

Shared War Plan Board? Diablo 4 Season 14 PTR Brings Unprecedented Changes to Rewards and XP

First, while highly anticipated by many players, unfortunately, account-wide war plans will not be included in the new season. Major changes like these, which rely heavily on player feedback, require significant development time. With Season 14 approaching, the studio likely doesn't have enough time for market research; we expect to hear more about this in Season 15. However, all the changes we'll discuss below, even those not related to account sharing, are aimed at optimizing war plans.

Synchronized Boards

In Season 14, players can synchronize all their boards. Here's how: First, you and all your teammates need to go to and be in Temis. Then, any teammate can initiate a vote on Share Boards. Once all team members select “Yes," everyone's war plan boards will be regenerated to be identical.

This operation consumes two marks of El'druin-the resource used to regenerate war plan boards. You gain three marks for each new war plan board acquired. This demonstrates the developers' clever design - after the team completes board synchronization, each player only has one mark and cannot synchronize a second time, preventing players from exploiting loopholes.

However, in the new season, player rewards can be increased up to four times. For example, if your squad has a maximum of four players and you complete board synchronization, your first mission is Nightmare Dungeon, with the final reward being extra gold.

Upon completing this mission, you'll receive the corresponding experience and rewards. However, because you have three teammates, even though your boards are identical, you'll still receive three additional sets of experience and rewards from their progress.

This mechanism significantly increases the rewards of team play, especially for four-player teams. While group players can't reset the war plan board as frequently as solo players, I believe that group play will undoubtedly remain the mainstream at the start of Season 14, as the additional rewards from this change are simply too attractive.

War Plan Changes

First, the difficulty of all war plan events has been increased to Torment 8 and above. While the difficulty has increased, higher difficulty means richer loot, which means players' endgame skill trees will level up faster.

Infernal Hordes

Second, they've increased the minimum XP required for Infernal Hordes. Currently, Infernal Hordes offer the slowest progression, even with multiple waves of combat, it's still slower than regular nightmare dungeons or simply defeating a boss, so this increase is quite significant.

In addition to experience, the loot obtainable in Infernal Hordes will also be improved. Although not mentioned in the patch notes, the developers have previously hinted at this. Furthermore, Infernal Hordes are expected to become a good option for farming Diablo 4 gold. They also revealed that, in addition to loot, the infinite reward chests used in the endgame will offer higher rewards. These chests contain gold, so if players equip seals and charms that increase the chance of obtaining gold when opening chests, they can obtain a large amount of gold.

Therefore, the next season's Infernal Hordes will see significant improvements in both experience and rewards, and will help players level up endgame skill trees more quickly, making it a more engaging endgame system.

The studio has also changed the objective of Helltide activities in War Plans - from opening a certain number of chests to simply collecting cinders. From Normal to Penitent, you need to collect a total of 75 cinders.

If you are in Torment 1 to Torment 12, you only need to collect 300 cinders. While this sounds like a lot, you no longer need to painstakingly search for and open chests, making the process much faster. Players only need to kill monsters.

New War Plan Objectives

Furthermore, the developers have designed new War Plan objectives for Helltides and Escalation Sigils, which can be stacked on top of other selected objectives. This makes the Infernal Hordes objectives last longer, allowing players to collect more cinders - a temporary currency.

Another objective is Escalation Nightmare Dungeon Sigil, which includes three dungeons and culminates in defeating Asteroth.

These two objectives, after adjustments, will last longer and offer greater rewards. Players, it's time to test your time management and strategic skills.

Infernal Wards

The same applies to Infernal Wards; longer objectives will be added, but the rewards and experience gained will also be significantly increased.

The studio is reportedly making these adjustments because the endgame skill trees for these events contain a lot of special content. Hell Tides now has more nodes, allowing players to spend far more time there than in regular quests, but also enabling more efficient use of these nodes. However, it's unknown whether they will add content to the skill trees themselves.

That concludes our current understanding of all the changes for Season 14. Players, are you ready to grind for rewards and experience with your gaming buddies?
