The character classes released for Diablo 4 include the ones that have been updated, not all of them. More classes will be announced in the next DLC update. We can make some wild guesses about which Diablo classes will appear in Diablo 4 expansion.
Although Developer has announced the existence of Diablo 4 expansion, we still don’t know what content will be there and how to get some of our most anticipated Diablo 4 Items.
Diablo 4 expansion is supposed to continue the story of Diablo 4, and we may see one or even all Prime Evils appear in Diablo 4 expansion. But so far, Developer has not announced which character classes we can get in Diablo 4 DLC.
But we do know that two new classes will be added in Diablo 4 DLC, which makes Diablo 4 DLC bigger than Diablo 4, and we should be happy about it. But the question is which character classes will be added. What’s a bit strange is that Diablo 4 uses returning classes from the beginning, so it’s not like Diablo 2, Diablo 3, or even Immortal, which created a whole new character class.
Although we are pretty sure that character classes will be added, we are still not sure which ones will be added. The first new class will appear with the upcoming expansion Vessel of Hatred. Based on this evidence, we can speculate which new classes will appear to help us get more Diablo 4 Items.
1. Warrior
After Diablo 1, Warrior gradually evolved into Dark Wanderer. In Diablo, Warrior is a standard melee class, but in Diablo 1 it has become a class that provides roguish and magical, and Warrior class has gradually been eliminated in the gameplay.
In terms of character class substitutability, Warrior has been gradually replaced by Barbarian, Paladin, and Crusader, and this class has gradually become redundant.
In the lore, Warrior of Diablo 1 was a prince of Aiden of Tristram, who eventually became Dark Wanderer.
2. Wizard
Wizard is very similar to Sorcerer, both of which use elemental magic to damage enemies. This is a character class that is unlikely to return to Diablo 4 DLC. Wizard was used in Diablo 3 and Diablo Immortal, and then gradually replaced Sorcerer and Sorceress in Diablo 1 and Diablo 2.
Although Mage and Sorcerer are technically different, they both use elemental magic to damage enemies, which is too similar to appear together.
3. Bard
Diablo Hellfire is not an official expansion. Bard is a class in Diablo Hellfire. Since this class is not officially released, it is not eligible. However, they actually introduced another Hellfire character, Barbarian, and even continued to use this class in Diablo 2, Diablo 3, Immortal, and 4.
So never be absolute. But Bard is still the character we think is the most difficult to return in future Diablo 4 expansion. And Bard recycles Rogue’s character models, making Rogue more boring.
4. Amazon
Amazon is very good with spears and bows. In Diablo 2, Amazon is a very powerful female warrior who fights with bows, javelins, and spears. It has largely replaced Rogue class. But it is interesting that in the first act of the game, it becomes an ally with a Rogue Order of Sightless Eye.
5. Assassin
Assassin only appears in Diablo 2 expansion. In this Assassin is a weapon master. Their weapon is claws, which can easily tear through enemies. Their first appearance was in Diablo 2 expansion, Lord of Destruction. Before that, Assassin was basically played by NPCs.
This character also borrows from Rogue class, which was later replaced by Demon Hunter in Diablo 3. For this reason, we think this class is unlikely to return.
6. Demon Hunter
Demon Hunter is the most popular among fans of both Diablo 3 and Immortal. In Diablo 3, they are very powerful and can use dual-wielding crossbows, launch explosives, set traps, and cast shadow magic.
Demon Hunter combines Assassin and Amazon classes, so it basically replaces both of them. However, this class is very popular in both Diablo 3 and Immortal, so the possibility of returning is not ruled out.
7. Witch Doctor
Witch Doctor class does not exist in Diablo 4. In Diablo 3, Witch Doctors appeared, using the powers of Voodoo to summon spirits and immortal creatures to attack enemies. This is actually a replacement for Necromancer, but it is not very popular with players. So in the end, Necromancer was added to Diablo 3 DLC in response to the requests of many players.
Since Necromancer has already appeared in Diablo 4, this means that Witch Doctor may be replaced. However, it is possible for these two Nephalems to coexist harmoniously. This result is not impossible. But the more likely competitor to be added is Kurast, who has already appeared in updated expansion.
8. Monk
Monk ranks very high in the tier rankings of Diablo III and Immortal, and we are now mainly looking at the character professions that may appear in Diablo IV DLC. monk is a well-trained warrior, and his swift attack speed and agile defense skills are impressive, so it can be expected that they are very flexible and have an advantage in unarmed combat.
Monk profession also incorporates the actions and equipment of the assassin. Whether in PvP or PvE, their tier rankings are very high, so this profession is very popular in Diablo III and Immortal. And this profession has no similar profession in Diablo IV, so it is very likely to be added to DLC.

9. Paladin
Paladin is actually holy warrior in Diablo 2. In Diablo 2, he is a melee fighter who uses auras and holy magic to make his body stronger to attack the enemy. Paladin replaced armored warrior profession, but Holy Light still guides the direction of Paladin.
Although the performance of this class in Diablo IV is generally satisfactory, it is also related to the rise of the religion of Inarius in Diablo III. Although this class was replaced by Crusader in Diablo III and Immortal, it is time to recast the glory of Paladin and reshape the order of Paladin.
10. Crusader
Crusader is a very classic tank image in Diablo III. In Diablo III, Immortal, Crusader and Paladin are very similar. They are all hybrid mages/tanks. The main weapon is justice. They wield flails, swords and shields at the same time, and strike the enemy with justice and will.
I said earlier that Crusader replaced Paladin in Diablo III and Immortal. We players are very much hoping that one of the two will return to DLC of Diablo IV, but we are not sure which one it will be.
11. Blood Knight
Blood Knight is the first new class announced since the release of Diablo III DLC. So far, Vampire class has been the exclusive class of Diablo Immortal. Blood Knight is the first new Diablo class released in Diablo III DLC since Crusader.
They released this new class in Diablo Immortal shortly after Diablo IV was released. So it’s very likely that the staff is considering whether to bring this class back. Although this is not a new class, this class does not exist in Diablo 1, 2, and 3. Hopefully they can make some arrangements for Blood Knight instead of just leaving him in Diablo Immortal.
The plots and quests in Diablo IV and 2 both involve vampires and even allow players to team up with vampires. This may be the developers’ preparation for the upcoming return of Blood Knight. Of course, this is just our speculation about the future return of the character class based on the situation at the time. The specific situation will have to wait for the official announcement.
Perhaps Blood Knight class originally revealed by the developer in “Immortal” and vampire theme of the second season are just coincidental. But at Carnival, the developer also said that it is feasible for Blood Knight to enter Diablo 4.
This means that the developers are positive about Blood Knight entering Diablo 4, so it is not a dream to see Blood Knight in the game! After all, each expansion will add at least one profession, which means that we can see many professions appear in our game in the future.
A New Character Class
So far, except for Diablo 4, which did not introduce new characters, each other Diablo game has introduced a new character profession, although the introduced character professions may be more or less inspired by the previous game. Maybe Diablo 4 fans are still guessing which professions may return, but it may also be a brand new profession design.
In DLC of Diablo 4, they may add some character professions that we have never seen before. For example, Templars, villains, and witches, we can even become angels or demons, so the relationship between heaven and hell may become more intense.
Whatever happens, the current character professions in Diablo 4 are just the beginning. The purpose of understanding this game is to give us a better gaming experience and make us play more happily.
