XP Farming in Mother's Blessing
During Mother's Blessing, all players will receive increased global rewards, including gold and XP from all sources. Here are some important ways to gain XP:
Let's start with the basics. In the past, we could gain a lot of XP by completing Whispers, and this still applies. Players can unlock the Tree of Whispers, which increases the drop rate of XP orbs when opening chests containing them, meaning a chance to gain more XP.
Furthermore, in your daily gameplay, you should complete as many Whispers of the Dead as possible to earn Grim Favors. While the number of Grim Favors gained each time varies, once you have 10, you can exchange them for a large amount of XP at Tree of Whispers.
Also, don't forget to Whispers within the zone. If your strength allows, I highly recommend challenging Torment 12, as it offers the highest XP bonus. You can also use Forgotten Wisdom to challenge Nightmare Dungeon, which boasts a 15% XP bonus for up to an hour, and combined with the monster density there, you can easily gain a large amount of XP.
The core of this strategy is Hellworms - massive monsters that emerge from the ground in the form of helltides. Therefore, players should first build their threat to 50% to ensure a stable Hellworm spawn rate, and then head to specific locations to farm them. Here's a little trick: you can search online for information on helltides, which includes Hellworm spawn points.
When you reach the spawn point, you'll find that the Hellworms will spew out different items; among them, maggots are what you need, as they will give you XP orbs. After you've eliminated most of the Hellworms, your threat level will decrease. Increase it and move on to the next location to continue killing Hellworms!
March of the Goblins
Next, let's look at the March of the Goblins. This time, you'll be heading to Kyovashad, and the rewards are tied to the reputation track. The deeper you go on the reputation track, the higher quality the Goblins you'll encounter, and the better the treasure bags they'll drop. While killing Goblins themselves will also drop Diablo 4 Gold, most of the rewards will actually come from these treasure bags.
Overall, in this March of the Goblins event, Goblins appear more frequently, both in the open world and other areas. They are also different types, and the rewards they drop vary, but they are all very useful. However, your final reward remains the same as before - Regalia of the Sacred Creed.
Nightmare Dungeon
So, how can you farm Goblins more efficiently? Treasure breach sigils in Nightmare Dungeon are a great option, where you'll find groups of three or four goblins in each room. Your reputation track will quickly level up, and you might end up with so much loot you can't carry it all.
However, treasure breach is a unique affix and quite rare. But thanks to Goblin Fall in the Nightmare Dungeon tree, things have improved. Now, every treasure goblin you kill has a chance to drop a sigil with treasure breach. The condition is that you need to kill goblins in Nightmare Dungeon.
The Altar of Avarice spawns a Goblin Altar every 20 elites killed by the player. Activating this Altar will spawn additional treasure goblins, increasing both loot and reputation.
Finally, killing treasure goblins in Greed is Good may unlock a portal to the goblin retreat, arguably the strongest resource point for goblins during the event. There are plenty of Treasure Goblins and extra loot here, and a mini-boss to fight at the end. However, this requires some luck; you'll need to gamble on whether it will successfully open the portal.
Open World
But if you want a more immediate, probability-free method, try the open world. The goblin spawn rate is higher here, and the method is simple: just find a dense area of goblins and run around killing them. However, to improve efficiency, I have a few suggestions:
- Equip the Subo so you can identify goblins on the map.
- Use the main map instead of the minimap, as the main map has a wider field of view, allowing you to spot goblins earlier and approach and kill them.
- Log off and disable cross-platform play so no other players are competing with you - the total area of goblins is yours.
Infernal Hordes
Next, I'll introduce another method - Infernal Hordes. You need to set your war plan to focus on the spawn of chaos waves and then pray for goblins to appear. If you're lucky, you might reach the highest reputation level on your first encounter with goblin chaos waves. However, the rewards will differ from the previous two methods; this method will only grant aether.
