Forza Horizon 6 will be available on May 19th, with premium edition owners getting up to four days early access. Are you ready to leave Mexico for Japan and embark on a brand new automotive adventure?
As you already know, Forza Horizon 6 will be set in Japan, featuring stunning terrain and breathtaking scenery, along with the series' traditional variety of races, interesting niche cars, and highly challenging high-end vehicles.
Let's take a look at some of the noteworthy and intriguing aspects from the official videos and gameplay demos released to select players.
Map of Japan
Japan boasts the most diverse map in the series' history. Whether you've experienced Mexico or the UK before, you won't find such a complex and detailed map design based on reality.

Natural Areas
While we already have diverse areas in Mexico, including volcanoes, snow-capped mountains, rainforests, and deserts, players have consistently criticized its maps for being too vast, lacking detail, and failing to offer engaging design. The initial novelty quickly wears off, leading to boredom and monotony.
However, the upcoming Japanese map in Forza Horizon 6 surpasses its predecessor in terms of scenery. For example, the snow-covered areas are no longer merely seasonal landscapes, but rather unique terrain perpetually covered in snow. The roads in this area will always be flanked by incredibly thick snow, forming walls that players must navigate through, exceeding the height of their vehicles.
Yes, that's right, the developers have incorporated this Hokkaido characteristic into the game.
Furthermore, Japan's characteristic mountainous terrain delivers an exhilarating mountain driving experience. You can race against others on winding mountain roads, just like in Japanese movies, or experience the thrill of drifting.
Urban Areas
Furthermore, for this installment set in Japan, the developers have included a city map—a first in the series' history. Not the small towns and villages of previous titles, but a realistic map of bustling Tokyo, complete with highways running through the city.
This makes the road system potentially very complex, moving beyond the flat roads and elevation changes of previous games. Instead, it features a three-dimensional road system.
While driving on city highways, other players might be passing by overhead or below you—those are Tokyo Metropolitan Expressway high above the ground, and tunnels buried underground.
Building upon this foundation, Forza Horizon 6 retains the widely praised seasonal system introduced in the previous two installments. Any terrain and area will subtly change with the seasons.
Wristband System
The developers wanted to move away from the easily unlocked and acquired vehicles of previous titles. However, you still need to start with lower-tier vehicles, gradually progressing through higher-level Horizon Festival events to reach Goliath. Along the way, you'll gain access to a wider selection of vehicles.
Building on this foundation, we welcome the return of Wristband System, a feature previously seen in FH series! Once you unlock your first wristband, you'll be invited to participate in Road, Dirt, and Cross Country events with specially modified vehicles.
As your ranking in Horizon Festival rises, you'll unlock more vehicles and custom race options. Wristband System requires you to participate in a sufficient number of races and achieve high enough results to unlock the next exciting wristband event.
By the way, you can even see Chaser Zero, Horizon's own racing mech, in the official videos; many have been drawn to this Gundam, a vehicle that perfectly represents Japan.

Vehicle System
As a racing game, the vehicle system is undoubtedly a key focus of Forza Horizon 6.
New Cars
Excitingly, the game is expected to launch with 550 cars, and this number will continue to grow with subsequent updates. This includes not only legendary cars with rich histories and stories, but also brand-new vehicles from recent years. These car models require you to complete numerous races to unlock them and accumulate enough Forza Horizon 6 Credits to design and modify them.
JDM
Since we're talking about Japan, we can't ignore JDM, the globally popular car culture. Clearly, in its homeland, Japan, JDM will be a prominent part of this game.
The distinctive exterior styling, unique customization options designed for various environments, and the potential JDM storylines within the game will definitely make you stand out in Forza Horizon 6.
Customization System
Closely related to JDM is the game's customization system, which has received a comprehensive upgrade in response to player requests!
In terms of appearance, just like in Forza Horizon, you can customize your vehicle's color and look, personalize the windows, and even change and design the front and rear wheels. Reportedly, there are over 100 different wheels available. You can even choose different paint materials to repaint your vehicle and change its texture.
If you wish, you can even cover your entire windshield with stickers.
Regarding accessories, this game features highly detailed Forza aerodynamic kits, each specially designed to complement its unique shape. These kits not only change your car's appearance but also bring about physically accurate performance changes.
Furthermore, the existing modification options have been upgraded, becoming more detailed and customizable. Just like in real life, you can adjust your brakes, suspension, and rear wing. In a developer interview, it was mentioned that you can even fit a motorcycle engine into your car.
These highly customizable modification options will absolutely drive car enthusiasts wild. If you're really passionate about these features, you'll likely need to participate in a lot of Forza races to support these modifications.
Player Houses System
This is another significant improvement in the game. Players have consistently complained that in the UK or Mexico, houses primarily functioned as roadside scenery and changed the player's starting position.
In Forza Horizon 6, they've changed this design, making it more in line with players' long-standing requests and more up-to-date. In this game, if you have enough FH6 credits, owning different houses will grant you various perks and customization options. The game also introduces more attractive estates and garages.
Through this system, you can not only customize your properties but also showcase your vehicle collection and invite friends to visit, showing off your cars and designs.
Multiplayer Mode
This is an essential part of Forza Horizon 6. Enjoy fun gameplay with your friends, participate in regular matches, torment them with your own custom maps, or play hide-and-seek and elimination tournaments. Many players will surely find these modes captivating.
Overall, we already know a wealth of information before FH6's official release, and this game is sure to provide a thoroughly enjoyable experience. More surprises await! If you're interested, stay tuned for the official release on May 15th.
