With WoW Classic 20th Anniversary Phase 5 well underway, Ahn'Qiraj War Effort has launched, and Phase 6: Shadows of the Necropolis is on the horizon.
Shadows of the Necropolis features two main events: Naxxramas and Scourge Invasion. As one of the most challenging raids in the original game, Naxxramas presents a genuine test.
So, if you want to get a head start on the upcoming battles, preparing ahead of time is crucial. Let's take a look at how to prepare for Naxxramas Raid in Phase 6.
Naxxramas Raid Entry Requirements
First and foremost, entering Naxxramas is no easy feat. To gain access, you'll need to establish a good relationship with Argent Dawn.
If you've already reached Exalted with Argent Dawn, you can get in for free, but otherwise, you'll need to spend a significant amount of WoW Classic 20 Anniversary gold.
So, while we're in Phase 5, hurry up and reach Exalted with Argent Dawn by farming dungeons like Stratholme.
Naxxramas Raid Essential Materials
Potions
Before entering Naxxramas, you'll need to stock up on potions and the ingredients needed to craft them. After all, part of the appeal of classic raids, and this is especially true of Naxxramas, is preparation. Here are a few key items you'll need:
- Greater Frost Protection Potion: Used during the fight against Naxxramas.
- Greater Shadow Protection Potion: Used during the fight against Loatheb.
In addition, you'll need a large amount of Elemental Water and Shadow Oils. These can be obtained by farming Scarlet Monastery Graveyard.
Gear
Due to the complexity and intensity of Naxxramas' combat, we'll also need to prepare resistance gear. This gear depends not only on the type of armor we're wearing but also requires numerous rare materials. For example:
- Cloth Wearers require Runecloth, Ironweb Spider Silk, and Essence of Water.
- Leather Wearers require Enchanted Leather, Cured Rugged Hide, and Essence of Water.
- Mail Wearers require Heavy Scorpid Scale, Cured Rugged Hide, and Essence of Water.
- Plate Wearers require Enchanted Thorium Bar, Arcanite Bar, and Essence of Water.
Class Sets
In addition to the potions and gear mentioned above, we'll also need to prepare a good class set. T3 sets, like AQ Raids, require crafting by obtaining award tokens dropped by bosses and combining them with materials from raid drops.
Crafting this gear requires high-end crafting materials, including Mooncloth, Cured Rugged Hide, Nexus Crystals, and Arcane Crystals.
However, these potions, gear, and other high-end crafting materials for class sets are currently very cheap to obtain in Phase 5. However, once Phase 6 begins, demand for these materials will surge, and WoW Classic Anniversary 20th gold required to obtain them from Auction House will naturally increase significantly. So it's wise to prepare in advance!
Reset Raids To Farming Gear
During the period leading up to Naxxramas, don't forget to run Zul'Gurub and Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj raids every time you reset. While these two raids aren't difficult in themselves, their drops are extremely valuable:
- Zul'Gurub: Primal Hakkari Idol it drops can be used for head or leg armor.
- Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj: The bosses here will drop spell books required for each class, helping to improve key skills.
Since these two raids have a short lockout period, we can run them multiple times per week until we've collected all the necessary items.
Preparing For Warrior
To tackle Four Horsemen of Naxxramas (Thane Korth'azz, Lady Blaumeux, Sir Zeliek, and Highlord Mograine), we'll need at least eight tanks. Here, we can use Warrior Tanks.
But for Warrior Tanks, ensuring gear is essential. They all need to ensure the hit rate of Taunts, which usually relies on spell hit trinkets. Therefore, we need to get Nat Pagle's Broken Reel from Zual'Gurub as soon as possible, which can improve spell hit rate.
Finally, if you're not already a skilled player, it's time to start studying the boss fight mechanics in Naxxramas. After all, as the final raid in the game, Naxxramas is incredibly challenging, and understanding each boss's abilities and strategies early on is crucial to ensuring a successful victory.
