WoW Midnight Patch 12.0.5, Lingering Shadows, has been live for a week. If you're a hardcore WoW player, you've probably already leveled one character to the maximum level of 90 in Patch 12.0.5 and are ready to train a few alts.
However, leveling an alt from scratch is incredibly tedious. Think about the time and effort you've invested in leveling up - it's a real headache.
Don't worry, by making good use of the game mechanics, you can level up faster and avoid getting stuck in a brain-rot state.
Utilize XP Buffs
To facilitate leveling, the game includes many gameplay elements with XP buffs. Making good use of these can shorten your leveling time. Below are four main examples:
Warband Mentor Buff
This is the most common buff encountered by WoW Midnight players, but it's not suitable for new players because it requires you to already have a max-level character.
Specifically, once you have your first level 90 character, your next alt will automatically gain a 5% bonus to experience; with two level 90 characters, the bonus increases to 10%, and so on, capping at 25%.
Therefore, if you really love this game and want to level many alts, it's recommended to focus on one level 90 character first and then maximize the bonus as quickly as possible.
War Mode Buff
When you're in Silvermoon City and open the talents window, you'll find a small button in the lower right corner - that's War Mode button.
Once War Mode is activated, you'll gain three independent PvP talents. Additionally, you'll gain 10% more experience from killing monsters and completing quests in the wild, and the rewards for completing World Quests will also be 10% higher.
However, in return, the system will mark you as a PvP-oriented player, and players from the opposing faction will be able to attack you outside the safe zones of the main city.
Therefore, if you want to level up quickly this way, it's best to exchange some powerful gear with WoW Midnight Gold beforehand to avoid being killed by other players.
Darkmoon Faire Buff
On the first weekend of each month, you can find a location called Darkmoon Faire in WoW Midnight.
Enter Darkmoon Faire, then ride the carousel to get "Whee!" buff; or simply exchange for some Top Hats from Darkmoon Faire merchant and wear them. Both methods will grant you Darkmoon Faire Buff, which gives you a 10% experience boost for 1 hour.
However, this buff is automatically removed once your character dies. So you either need to frequently visit Darkmoon Faire or exchange for a large number of hats at once.
Completing Quests
The fastest way to level up in WoW Midnight is still by completing quests. Furthermore, if you are a new player unfamiliar with the game, it will be difficult to level up using the methods mentioned above.
However, there are techniques to leveling up through quests, and it's not necessary to complete every single one.
Specifically: First, you can refer to this questline: Complete the introductory quests. Next, you need to unlock Delves locations in Silvermoon City and Quel'Danas - there are three in total. Then, accept all the quests listed on the parchment scrolls or wanted posters there.
Once you've completed Delves quests, go to Voidstorm and accept a series of quests from Umbri. After completing these quests, you'll enter Delves area in Magister's Terrace, where you can now do Delves quests again.
After completing Voidstorm quests, immediately proceed with a series of quests from Artor. Once you've completed all these quests, you should reach around level 80. Finally, you need to go to Harendar and complete Eversong Woods quests to reach around level 88.
But there's a trick to this process. Since the experience reward for quests increases with your level, try to avoid submitting certain high-experience quests before level 88. Instead, save them until level 88 when the leveling speed slows down and submit them all at once. This will help you get through the final sprint to reach the level cap of 90 faster.
Shadow Guard Point
This method is relatively tedious in WoW Midnight Patch 12.0.5, but the leveling speed is extremely fast, even reaching level 90 in just a few hours - it involves endlessly utilizing a specific Delve and killing monsters to level up.
Currently, the most popular Delve among players is Shadow Guard Point in Calamitous Story Mode.
First, you need to exchange WoW Midnight Gold for some of the latest and best equipment and items. Then, enter Shadow Guard Point, and you'll find a large number of monsters piled up at its entrance. Kill them all to gain a large amount of experience.
Most monsters are easy to deal with, but you need to be wary of large monsters called Shadow Guards and Steel Souls. They are relatively more troublesome, but with good enough equipment, you can easily defeat them.
Since this method is quite tedious and requires long battles, besides bringing good equipment, you can also team up with a high-level friend to level up. After all, high-level players can deal a lot of damage, which can greatly shorten battle time.
However, note that Calamitous Story Mode is not available every day. You can open Voidstorm map to check if Calamitous Story Mode is available today.
Of course, there are many other ways to level up, such as through Timewalking Week or Gathering, depending on your preference. This article only introduces the three most common and popular leveling methods. Now, begin your leveling journey!
