Want to level from 90 to 285 in World of Warcraft Midnight Season 1? This doesn't require brute force; there's a clear, efficient path. While you won't be able to do it instantly, following this guide will make it much faster than you think.
Accept Weekly Quests
After reaching level 90, don't rush into doing quests. Instead, go to various maps and accept weekly quests to prepare for efficient completion later.
We can accept world boss quests from Lady Liadrin. Defeating the world boss rewards you with Apex Cache and Sparks. Sparks can be used for later crafting. Besides WoW Midnight gold, the world boss always drops a Champion Warband item, which could be a trinket, ring, or necklace—hopefully a usable piece.
The key point is: don't start the quests immediately after accepting them, as we need to progress through multiple objectives simultaneously.
Timewalking
Timewalking is the fastest way to acquire gear. Note that Timewalking is located in Stormwind and Orgrimmar; it's not available in other major cities.
You need to find Timewalking master and accept the quest "Disturbance Detected: Firelands," which only requires killing Ragnaros. The quest reward is Hero-quality gear.
However, it's recommended to complete the entire raid, as each boss drops Champion-quality gear. Moreover, the entry barrier is extremely low. Furthermore, high-item-level players often don't need this gear and can ask them for it.
Multi-pronged Approach Strategy
Core Strategy
First, we need to accept Prey quests and kill specific monsters. The first two Prey quests reward Veteran Cache. While doing Prey quests, also complete the area's world quests, weekly quests, and kill rares along the way. Rares have a chance to drop Warband gear, which can be used on your current character or other alts.
Next, focus on Voidstorm. Prioritize raising your Voidstorm reputation to rank 7. Reputation level 7 rewards a powerful Trinket, used by almost all players doing Mythic content.
Get Cache by accepting the quest from Void Researcher Anomander and completing Stormarion Assault.
For other areas, Harandar still involves world quests, weekly quests, and killing world bosses. Reaching Silvermoon reputation level 9 rewards a Champion-quality helmet. If you already have the Champion belt or necklace, you can skip Amani Tribe.
Completing all these quests and activities guarantees an item level of at least 220 without taking too much time.
Mythic Dungeons
Currently, Mythic Dungeons is the most user-friendly season. M0 is equivalent to the difficulty of past Heroic dungeons, and from levels 1 to 5, the game highlights the routes for pulling mobs. The completion rate for level 10 exceeds 85%, making it extremely high.
In terms of rewards, level 10 directly drops Hero gear and Mythic gear from the Great Vault. Crest is also Mythic difficulty. Therefore, this is the most cost-effective level.
Delves
If you prefer solo play or don't want to team up, Delves are your best choice.
Prioritize pushing Delves difficulty to level 8 or higher, then use the weekly Coffer Keys to open Bountiful Delves. Each key can be exchanged for one Champion piece of equipment.
Additionally, killing certain mobs in Delves has a chance to summon Nemesis boss Nullaeus. Reducing its health to half will drop a Bounty Treasure. Using this before the current Delves ends will grant an extra Hero piece of equipment, reliably once per week.
Completing level 11 Delves will also unlock a Cracked Keystone quest. Simply defeat any level 2 or higher Mythic+ dungeon to obtain 20 Hero Dawncrests and 20 Mythic Dawncrests, ignoring the weekly cap.
Key Concepts for Equipment Upgrading
Remember, you are not upgrading a single piece of equipment, but rather an equipment slot. Once you've upgraded a gear slot to its maximum level, any lower-item-level gear placed in that slot will catch up for free. Therefore, never waste Crests upgrading gear that's only at item level 2/6; wait until it's at least 3/6.
Our priority for upgrading pieces is Trinket, followed by the chest, head, and legs—slots with the highest primary stat benefits.
For crafting, Spark weapons don't need Crests to reach item level 259, but never use Hero Crests to upgrade them; only use Mythic Crests to recraft them to 285. After weapons, prioritize crafting cloaks, rings, or bracers.
Finally, there's Catalyst. You can easily accumulate Manafluxes needed for Catalysts through dungeons, weekly quests, and boss kills. The principle for Catalysts is to only use them on Hero-quality gear at item level 3/6 or higher, converting them into set pieces for the current raid to help you quickly complete two-piece or four-piece sets.
Repeat this process weekly: accept weekly quests, complete Timewalking, farm Delves, and finish the endless Crest questline. Your item level will steadily approach 285, without relying solely on luck.
