When players finish Act 3, they have basically reached the end of the game. However, this is not the end of the game, because players can continue to play to face the real challenge. This is Path of Exile 2 endgame.
What Is Endgame?
Endgame will provide players with a special map. To enter it, you must complete Act 3 twice. The first time is normal difficulty, and the second time is Cruel difficulty.
At the end of the third act of POE 2, a mysterious force attacks everyone. Alva and Doryani will take you to Ziggurat Refuge.
By talking to Doryani, you will learn about Cataclysm. If you can’t stop its spread, Cataclysm will corrupt Wraeclast and destroy everything. Your task is to clear the corruption on the map and bring civilization back to this land.
Path Of Exile 2 Atlas
Atlas is a navigation device that can teleport you to the corrupted area. You can use Waystone to calibrate the area you teleport to. Waystone can adjust the monsters on the map, and it also has the level. Doryani will give you a level 1 Waystone.
Players will encounter a random group of monsters at each level. In the early assessment, you can encounter more than 400 different monster types. You need to defeat all the monsters to enter the deeper parts of Atlas.
This map has a rich biome, from wilderness to snowy mountains, from woodlands to cities. These cities will provide different items. If you are interested, you can explore them.
Waystone
One Waystone can allow you enter a level once. The level is divided into different levels. The higher the level, the more dangerous the monsters are, and the more rewards you get.
Waystone can be made using POE 2 Currency, and can also be dropped by monsters. Waystone can change its rarity or add affixes with orbs.
You can add prefix mods to increase rewards or add suffix mods to increase danger. These ways can also increase the drop rate of Waystone, or allow you to get a higher level Waystone.
Atlas Tree
Another way to change monster drops is Atlas Tree. Players can gain Atlas Tree skill points by clearing corruption from the map. These points can be used to adjust the rewards of the level or the danger of the monsters.
Hideout
Hideout is the area where players camp and repair. Of course, you need to clear the monsters here to occupy it. After that, you can invite NPCs to hang out in your hideout.
Towers
You can see these buildings on the map. They are scattered around Ziggurat Refuge. When you complete a tower, you can see more map content to help you plan your next move.
Activities
Activities are the main gameplay content you will face in the endgame of PoE 2. There are currently four main Activities: Breach, Delirium, Expedition, Ritual.
Each activity is optional. You can complete the map without participating in the activity, or vice versa. But once you die, the activity is closed on this map. Even if you respawn and return to this map, the activity will not be opened again.
Each activity requires you to clear the monsters as quickly as possible, so the faster the better. It is best to bring a Waystone that can make the monster level at least three levels lower than you. Some activities introduce additional modifiers that make the game more difficult. Read the tooltip before you enter the altar.
Breach
The demon world and the player world are connected, and now powerful monsters will cross over to the player world. Players will fight them in the rifts. Killing these monsters will get a lot of POE 2 Items.
Players can find Breach Stones near the tower. Through Breach Stones, you can go to the other side and fight the leader Xesht. You can get Atlas Tree skill points.
Ritual
There is a red symbol above each map. This is a place built by the King in the Mists for sacrifice. When you enter the misty place, you must kill monsters to offer their blood to the altar. When you kill them all, you can touch the altar to revive them again.
You can exchange the sacrifice for loot. When everything is over, you will meet King in the Mists. Defeating it will get Atlas Tree skill points.
Delirium
You can find mirrors in different maps that will teleport you to the mists of delirium. As you advance through the mists, the monsters you encounter will become increasingly powerful. In the end, you will encounter Simulacrum Splinters, which are twisted monsters from your memories. After you defeat them, you will gain Atlas Tree skill points.
Expedition
Kalgurrans need your help to use explosions to dig up lost artifacts. These explosions will awaken undead corrupted monsters. Using the debris will further anger them.
You can exchange the artifacts you get with Kalgurrans for items and magic runes. At the end, you will fight Olroth, the commander of Knights of the Sun.
This is the basic information about the endgame of Path of Exile 2. You can continue to play here for hundreds of hours. However, some players say that the current endgame content is not rich enough. That’s because the developers still need to develop the next three acts of the main story. However, in the endgame, you can get more POE 2 Exalted Orbs and other currencies than in the main story. You can get enough loot here. After the subsequent three acts are released, endgame will become even more fun.
